I CAN! Be An Artist: Museum Visits

Researchers have found that museums not only give kids a greater appreciation for art, they lead to higher levels of critical thinking, offer a dynamic opportunity to expose children to experiences and explore new things in a rich and educational environment.

South LA youth are exposed to local museums such as the Natural History Museum, the California Science Center, the Griffith Observatory and the LA Brea TarPits.

While visiting these museums, the kids see different exhibits of contemporary art and sculptures-many of them for the first time!. A tour guide explains the paintings and sculptures in great detail
