I CAN! Be A Millionaire

Our future billionaires ages 6-17, along with other SoLa tenants, participate in learning about opening up a bank account, budgeting and credit management in our Financially Literacy Workshop.
While money management and investing aren't the easiest things to focus on, our tenants are always interested in attending.
SoLa Impact
partners with Operation Hope LA and Chase Bank to provide a great financial literacy instruction.

Participants are given a workbook that goes more in depth of budgeting. It also provides salaries for different careers—which gets them very excited to know how much money they could be making when they grow up and start their careers!

After the workshop, SoLa provides each kid (accompanied by their parent/guardian) a $25 stipend to open their very first bank account! To encourage kids to save and build on that amount, SoLa will match that amount (if they still have it) at the next Financial Literacy Workshop!

SoLa strongly believes that financially literacy is essential for our tenants because it’s a very critical life skill. Over 50% of our tenants were formally homeless and are below the poverty line, so it’s beneficial that they know what is to budget.
